Founder & the director General of the Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation- PYALARA since 1999. She started her professional career as a teacher of English language at Bethlehem University. Then acted as the Business Manager of The Jerusalem Times weekly newspaper. In 2005, Bitar founded along with a number of Women Leaders, the International Women’s Commission for a Just and Sustainable Peace. She ran as a candidate for the Palestinian Legislative Council Elections within the "Third Way" national list. Currently, she serves as a member of the board of trustees of the Arab-American University of Jenin and a board member of a number of local Palestinian NGOs such as MIFTAH and WCLAC. Bitar is one a founding member of MILEN; media and information literacy expert network. Bitar was nominated a “Global Leader for Tomorrow” and “Young Arab Leader”. Bitar is the author of several articles and a keynote speaker at a number of national and international conferences.
